Welcome to the information page about the BGB Simultaneous Pairs.

The funds raised by these events are distributed to the Home Unions where they are used to support the National Teams as they go to represent their country in World and European events.

Running a BGB Simultaneous Pairs is very simple - and we like to think that it is fun ! If you haven't done one before, do contact Anna Gudge, either by email or by telephone on 01787 881920. We can usually arrange to send you a sample pack so that you can see for yourself what is involved. When you enter one of the events, tell uspproximately how many tables you think you will have, so that we can send you a booklet for each participant, then you will receive a pack about 3 weeks beforehand, containing everything you need to run a heat ... the simple instructions, the travellers with the hands printed on and as many booklets as you have requested. The travellers are in a sealed envelope, as are the booklets, contained within the "outer" envelope, so you can't get at the bits you mustn't see!

You can, if you wish arrange to have the boards made up in advance by someone completely unconnected with the event, or your players can make them up on the night - yes, I know that sounds illogical, but they don't play the boards they make up!

Then you all enjoy the evening's bridge (we hope!) scoring as normal, and at the end use one of the programs that are compatible with the ECats Scoring system to send in the results for overall scoring across the field. A cheque into the post - or you can pay by credit card or paypal if you prefer - to cover the entry fees, and now all you need to do is to keep an eye on the website to watch all the results coming in, and an eye on your email in case we have any queries about the scores when we check the frequencies. The rest is up to us!

When all the scores are in, and the checks completed, we post you the heat winner prizes - really nice Parker pens for the winning pair at your club - money prizes (yes, real cheques!) to the top 20 pairs overall, the precious Master Points for the pairs in the top third of the field, and your local result showing the position of each pair in the overall ranking.
