As part of our 40th Anniversary celebrations (which we have stretched out to a full year) we have organised a Simultaneous Pairs event with a difference. With help from long-time member and all-round genius David Burn we have selected 33 hands of interest using records and notes going back to the early ‘70s. All have either been played at the Club or by a YC member in a significant event.
We’ve been able to get a good balance between part-scores, games and slams and there are no dull little flat boards.
Each hand has a short commentary by David Burn and participating clubs have a choice of getting the printed or electronic hand records (and duplimate is available for clubs that can use this).
Part of the proceeds will go to Alzheimer’s Society, as has been the case for other Anniversary events (we have already raised over £1000 and are hoping to increase this greatly with the Sim event).
Scoring and MP awards will be done nationally, using ECatsBridge
You can click here to download a poster (which was created for promoting this and another event at Brighton). It’s just £1 per person for a typical 9 table duplicate (£35/club). And we’ll consider letting clubs who normally play on a Monday/Wednesday compete on the day before or day after the official event date (Tues 23rd).
The winning pair nationally will receive crystal tumblers commemorating our Anniversary.
IF YOUR CLUB WANTS TO PARTICIPATE PLEASE CONTACT Gordon Rainsford at info@ycbc.co.uk or speak to him on 020 7373 1665 to register. THANKS |
