Many of you ask me what the money raised by the Simultaneous
Pairs goes to.
Well, the BGB ones raise funds which are distributed
to the Home Unions for the express purpose of supporting
the English, Scottish and Welsh National Teams when they compete
in the European and World Championships. We have some great
teams who represent us at these events, and are well worth
supporting.
For the World
wide & European events, the funds are raised
for all sorts of purposes. Among other things, it has helped
us to develop a teaching
site, which is
now available in four languages, with more to come; we are
hoping to provide additional facilities as well as materials
for students wishing to learn bridge as well as material to
help train teachers, tournament directors and even Federations.
It helps provide practical assistance for countries less "bridge
developed" than
we are, to help them and encourage them.
Obviously the Charity
ones are to raise money for the stated Charity.
